Main features include this special and exclusive component driver is a concept conceived way back in 1970’s. Its aim is to concentrate medium and tweeter emissions in a single virtual point. This minimizes phase delays and irregularities at the crossover point. All the parts that make up this component were made with the CNC process. This is very expensive and requires a lengthy manufacturing process, but ensures perfect geometry and impeccable aesthetics. Moreover, the parts are made with Avional aluminum with deep oxidization. Both components use a very large neodymium motor magnet optimized with computer simulations (FEA) to obtain a great efficiency and improved linearity all along the voice coil’s excursion. The neodymium magnet is of a high grade to eliminate magnetic losses at elevated temperatures and to concentrate more force in less space. The tweeter dome, made of high module carbon fiber with integrated soft cloth suspension, offers superb heat resistance, low weight and excellent self-damping, with a natural and linear response and a very low frequency extension. The midrange, also manufactured in carbon fiber, integrates a suspension in synthetic foam, ensuring a perfect balance between rigidity weight and self-damping. The carbon fiber guarantees an extremely natural and linear reproduction with an excellent extension at the ends of the band. Great attention was given to the ventilation of the two components, through multiple axial holes. Residual resonances are neutralized by the under dome dB Cloth damping material. This extends the frequency response to the lower limits and reduces harmonic distortion. To improve control and damping an acoustic resistance was adopted on both components. Combined together, the two components are able to reproduce with perfect linearity the entire spectrum from 500Hz to 25KHz. Small permanent magnets fix the tweeter and midrange grill in the correct position and these are easy to remove for customization.
